Lee,
where were all the mackerel this year?
I enjoy spinning at my local rockky spot but had only a handful this year and now they seem to have gone completely.

i found that they were in short supply in bucks mills this year. last year (august) i had plenty till the sea roughed up in our second week. luckily i had already got what i needed bait wise. we are seeing them at southend pier which is the mouth of the thames so it is pretty wierd that north devon missed out while we have been getting bucket loads on the east coast. could it be that they have arrived from a different direction this year? i dont know enough about mackerel migratory habits to be able to say.

Hi to all. macks seem to have been thin on the ground from the shore this year. I was in the I-O-M in june and only managed 3 a friend who boat fishes the n.wales coast has only had a couple of trips where they were caught in numbers but another mate had a good few days last bank holiday but nothing when he went back the following week. At that time their was a lot of bait fish which have also been scarce
